Very short note to ring in 2026! On the topic of last year’s stock (& bond) market returns, which were surprisingly impressive, who would have thought?!
For 2025:
Dow Jones UP ~ 13%
Nasdaq Comp UP ~ 21%
S&P 500 UP ~ 17%
Russell 2000 UP ~ 12%
(The Russell 2000 is the US small company index.)
Amazingly… non-US developed and emerging market stocks overall (in various funds and indices) were UP 35%-45% and more in 2025, rewarding globally diversified equity portfolios.
The 10-year US Treasury Note started 2025 yielding 4.6%…and ended the year yielding 4.16%.
The new year of 2026 will have its own share of surprises — more to come!
